Every Thursday afternoon, enjoy a nature hike, weather investigation, and exploration of habitat high and low at Waldo’s Rock Park in Marion. Campers can sign up for a few classes or explore over the course of the summer to see how the park changes with the seasons. Topics vary each week, including Leave No Trace, Prairie & Pond Habitats, Weather, Insects, Animals, Plants, Journaling, and more. This class requires no prior experience and is designed for incoming K (with adult) to 10th grade. Wonder/Wander at Waldo's Rock Park in Marion

  • Sessions will be held outdoors, rain or shine but may be cancelled for severe weather. Please dress for the weather, including sunscreen, hat, and sturdy sneakers or shoes. Bring a water bottle and a desire to learn while having fun! Covid precautions in place; as of May 1, 2021, masks are highly recommended for ages 2+ regardless of vaccination status. Parents should plan to accompany children 7 and under; adult learners welcome. Facilitator is first aid/CPR certified.  Each class is limited to 12 students. Cancellation Policy:  Instructor reserves the right to cancel class on short notice due to weather or other factors; refunds will be issued.  If the student cancels within 72 hours prior to class, then no refund will be issued.
