*STEAM On’s primary goal for miniCamps is to provide kids with a fun and educational summer enrichment program in a safe and inclusive environment. Adult Facilitators and older Youth Mentors/Counselors strive to provide campers with individualized attention, so please be open with us about ways to make this the best experience possible for your child.
Camp Online Campers will need a gmail account. Class meetings will start promptly, so please be punctual by logging in 10 minutes prior to your live session. You will receive an email with the class schedule, log in information, supplies and other special needs prior to the start of camp. Campers will need computer with internet access for these camps (PC or Mac with at least 2 gb free space); please have a fully charged battery or be prepared to be plugged in during the camp. At least 3 days prior to the camps, please ensure any needed software or online meeting platform is loaded on your device and that you/your camper know how to access it (contact Info@STEAMOn.net with questions). You will enter the meeting with your video and audio turned off. We will turn these on as camp begins. The Camp Team may also ask you to type in responses with the chat function. Please use your camper’s real first name as your log in name, so that we can both stay safe and keep attendance! An adult helper may be needed to ensure a good camper experience.
Behavior Policy Good Behavior is a key component to a successful day camp experience. Campers who do not abide by Behavior agreement will be removed from camp. Parents will be contacted if inappropriate behavior continues. Refunds will not be granted when a camper is dismissed. If your child has behavioral concerns and/or special accommodations at school, please let us know so that we can best serve your child. STEAM On summer camps are held in a learning environment, and students are expected to participate fully and be respectful to staff and other students, so that everyone may have a fantastic summer enrichment experience.
Snacks and Lunch are on your own. The classes are flexible, so you are welcome to snack as needed, except during the Live online meeting portion(s) of the day, unless otherwise instructed. Please DO NOT EAT while working with robotics sets. Wash your hands before and after using the LEGO sets. Thank you!
Cancellation Policy STEAM On reserves the right to cancel or reschedule classes for weather and safety concerns (i.e., if the region is under a Tornado warning), if minimum enrollment is not met, or for other conflicts. In these instances, we will issue a full refund. To ensure we have sufficient supplies ready for you, please pre-register online by 3/7/2021. We understand plans can change. If you need to change/cancel your registration, it must be completed by email to Info@STEAMOn.net at least 72 hours prior to class. There is a 50% processing fee on all cancellations 72 hours or more prior to the day of the class. There are no refunds within 72 hours of the day of class or after, for cancellations or absences by the attendee(s).
Waivers There will be additional forms emailed to you after you complete online registration, including permission to appear and potentially be recorded on the online meeting platform, and liability for rental items (Robotics camps).
We look forward to working with your camper! Contact Shelley at Info@STEAMOn.net with questions.
Materials for miniCamp
We will provide a kit that will include supplies for most scheduled activities, though the camper may be asked to provide a few common household items. If you register by 3/7, you should receive these kits prior to camp week. Due to allergies, no peanuts/peanut butter or tree nut products will be used. Please notify STEAM On if your child has an allergy to food or substances, as some experiments may use food items (including artificial dyes, preservatives, citrus, rice, cornstarch, wheat flour, yeast), or items containing latex, etc.
